We primarily serve homeowners in North Dallas (including Lake Highlands and University Park), Richardson, Plano, and Garland, along with surrounding communities.
Because every municipality has its own permitting requirements and construction considerations, our service area may depend on the specific project.
If you’re not sure whether your home is within our service area, reach out. We’re happy to talk through it.
No. You don’t need to have everything figured out before reaching out.
Bring us what you have—ideas, inspiration photos, a list of things you want to change, or simply a description of what isn’t working in your home. We can help you understand what comes next and connect you with the appropriate design or architectural resources if needed.
If you already have plans or are working with an architect or designer, we’re happy to discuss how we can work together to bring the project to life.
Yes. We offer a free preliminary ballpark estimate after the initial consultation to help you understand whether your project is generally within reach.
After learning about your goals, home, and desired scope, we’ll provide a preliminary range based on the information available at that stage. It’s meant to give you a useful starting point—not a hard bid or guaranteed construction price.
As the project becomes more defined through pre-construction planning, including design, selections, and site evaluation we can work toward a more solidified scope and price.
Our goal is to help you make informed decisions early, before you invest significant time or money into planning a project that may not fit your budget.
We cannot give you a guaranteed, accurate price until every spec and fixture preference is discussed and a clear plan is in place. When a contractor gives a "free hard bid", they are usually doing one of two things: overcharging you significantly to cover their guesses, or underpricing the job just to win the contract, only to hit you with thousands of dollars in surprise change orders later.
At Echo Hills, we believe in upfront honesty. Our initial ballpark estimate is always free. But to give you a true, locked-in hard bid, we invest hours of meticulous measuring, subcontractor site walks, and permit checking. Charging a small, upfront planning fee allows us to dedicate the time required to build an airtight budget—protecting your home and your wallet from stressful mid-project surprises. Best of all, when you move forward with us, that fee goes 100% toward your project cost!
Because we design and price things realistically from day one, it is rare for our final numbers to wildly miss the ballpark. However, if the hard bid does come in significantly higher—usually due to structural surprises or premium material selections—we don't just walk away.
As a family business, our goal is to get you into a space you love at a price you can afford. We will sit down with you to "value engineer" the project. This means we will look for creative swaps—like alternative materials, finishings, or layout adjustments—to bring the costs down without sacrificing quality.
Because you paid for the planning phase, you own all the layout designs and specification sheets we created together, giving you complete control over your project even if you choose not to move forward with Echo Hills.
Yes, and your designer will thank you for it!
Beautiful drawings and interior design boards tell us what the project should look like, but our Pre-Construction phase determines exactly how it gets built safely and efficiently. During this time, we take your designer's plans and perform behind-the-scenes engineering checks, verify structural integrity, and invite our mechanical trades (plumbing, electrical, HVAC) to inspect the site.
This team effort ensures that the vision on paper can actually be built within the budget you expect.
Yes, when permits or inspections are required for your project, we manage that process from beginning to end, and coordinate the necessary inspections for you.
Permit requirements can vary depending on the work being done and the city or municipality where you live. Because local requirements matter in North Texas, we’ll identify permitting needs as part of the planning process rather than leaving you to figure them out on your own.
Echo Hills Home Co. is intentionally owner-led. Every project is personally estimated and managed by our founder, Devin Wells.
From the first conversation and initial ballpark estimate through pre-construction planning, construction, and final walkthrough, you’ll have same point of contact.
We believe that continuity matters. The person who understands your goals and scope from the beginning is the same person helping navigate decisions, coordinate the work, and keep the project moving forward.
You won’t be handed off to a sales team after the consultation. You’ll have a direct line to the person accountable for your project—and someone who knows your home and your project from the inside out.
Your home is still your home while we’re working on it.
We take care to protect areas that aren’t part of the construction, control dust and debris as much as possible, maintain a safe work environment, and keep the job site organized.
We also understand that construction is happening in a place where your family may still be living, so we aim to be respectful of your home, your routines, and your neighbors throughout the project.
Changes can happen, but they’re best addressed as early as possible.
Even a small change can affect materials, labor, cost, or the schedule once construction is underway. If you’re considering a change, we’ll talk through the impact before moving forward with a change order so you can make an informed decision.
Our job is to help you understand the tradeoffs—not simply say yes or no.
Remodeling an existing home can sometimes uncover conditions that weren’t visible before construction began. That might mean an issue behind a wall, an unexpected structural condition, or an existing system that needs attention.
If something unexpected comes up, we’ll communicate it with you, explain what we found, discuss the options and associated costs, and work with you on the best path forward.
No surprises whenever we can help it—and no hiding problems when we can’t.
The right contractor is about more than finding someone who can get the work done. It’s about finding someone you trust to take care of your home, communicate honestly, and stay accountable throughout the process.
We’re a good fit for homeowners who value thoughtful planning, a family-first mindset, straightforward communication, dependable project leadership, and quality work that’s built to last.
If that sounds like the kind of relationship you’re looking for, let’s start with a conversation.
Let's talk! Whether you're dreaming about a new kitchen, updating a bathroom, or simply trying to figure out what's possible, we'd love to hear about it.
